Soccer Game Preview: Kennedy vs. Buena Park

The Kennedy Fighting Irish will square off against the Buena Park Coyotes at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Kennedy has five straight wins, Buena Park has seven straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the pitch.

Last Tuesday, Kennedy earned a 3-1 victory over Tustin. Given the Fighting Irish's advantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 168th, while the Tillers are ranked 459th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Buena Park didn't have quite enough to beat Segerstrom on Thursday and fell 2-1.

Kennedy has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 13 of their last 14 games, which provided a nice bump to their 14-2-3 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 46 goals over those 14 contests. As for Buena Park, their loss dropped their record down to 3-15-1.

Kennedy was able to grind out a solid win over Buena Park in their previous meeting on January 9th, winning 2-0. Will Kennedy repeat their success, or does Buena Park have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
