Meanwhile, Frederick faced Erie in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Tuesday. The Golden Eagles came up short against the Tigers, falling 14-1. The Golden Eagles' loss signaled the end of their five-game winning streak.
Frederick saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Natalie Sias, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one run.
Erie's win bumped their record up to 17-5. As for Frederick, their defeat dropped their record down to 16-6.
Thursday's game might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Erie has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .504. However, it's not like Frederick struggles in that department as they've averaged .452. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
