Football Recap: Bethesda-Chevy Chase Turns Things Around After Road Loss + How To Watch

There's no place like home for Bethesda-Chevy Chase, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Friday. They came out on top against the Walter Johnson Wildcats by a score of 28-21 on Friday. That's more bragging rights for the Barons, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Jaylen Ball had a dynamite game, rushing for 78 yards and a pair of TDs on only six carries.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Bethesda-Chevy Chase was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 323 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've posted since back in September of 2024.

Despite the loss, Walter Johnson still got an impressive performance from Jake Forburger, who threw for 115 yards and two touchdowns, and also rushed for 35 yards. Forburger's passing game has become a key predictor of the Wildcats' success: the team is 2-1 when his passer rating is 100 or higher, but only 0-3 otherwise.

The victory got Bethesda-Chevy Chase back to even at 3-3. As for Walter Johnson, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-4.

Coming up, Bethesda-Chevy Chase will look to defend their home field on Friday against Blake at 6:30 p.m. The Bengals' defense has only allowed 8.7 points per game this season, so the Barons' offense will have their work cut out for them. As for Walter Johnson, they are taking a road trip to challenge Northwest at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.
