Soccer Game Preview: Fort Dodge vs. Nevada

The Fort Dodge Dodgers will face off against the Nevada Cubs at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Fort Dodge's offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for three straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end.

Fort Dodge fell victim to Lincoln and their airtight defense on Monday. They came up short against the Railsplitters, falling 10-0. While losing is never fun, Fort Dodge can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Iowa soccer rankings (they are ranked 118th, while Lincoln are ranked 12th).

Meanwhile, Nevada kept a clean sheet against Greene County on Tuesday. They were the clear victors by a 4-0 margin over the Rams. The result was nothing new for Nevada, who have now won ten matchups by three goals or more so far this season.

The win made it two in a row for Nevada and bumps their season record up to 11-2. The victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only given up zero goals over those two matches. As for Fort Dodge, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-7.
