Football Recap: Dynamic Duo of Derrick Mitchell and Jazir Dickerson Lead Colonel Richardson to Victory + How To Watch

The matchup between Colonel Richardson and Cambridge-South Dorchester on Friday hardly resembled the 14-7 effort from their previous meeting. The Colonels walked away with a 38-28 win over the Vikings. For the Colonels, this counts as revenge for the 14-7 victory the Vikings walked away with the last time they faced one another back in November of 2024.

This one was won in the trenches and the lion's share of the credit has to go to Jazir Dickerson and Derrick Mitchell. Dickerson gained 203 total yards while Mitchell gained 187 total yards. Mitchell didn't just play on offense: he also made nine total tackles and defended one pass.

Colonel Richardson was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 312 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 225 rushing yards in four consecutive games.

Colonel Richardson didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Zy'Arron Nichols and Dickerson.

When it comes to explaining why Cambridge-South Dorchester lost, don't look at Sterling Perkins Jr. Despite the final result, he rushed for 180 yards and three TDs while picking up 9.0 yards per carry, and also picked up 30 receiving yards.

Colonel Richardson now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Cambridge-South Dorchester, they are on a six-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-5.
