Basketball Game Preview: Fremont Pathfinders vs. King/Drew Golden Eagles

Fremont hasn't had much luck against King/Drew recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Fremont Pathfinders will face off against the King/Drew Golden Eagles at 4:00 p.m. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.

Fremont is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They simply couldn't be stopped on Wednesday as they easily beat Dorsey 61-11. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest victory the Pathfinders have posted since December 2, 2024.

Fremont found their leader in sophomore Isis Gates, who posted 25 points. That makes it five consecutive games in which Gates has scored at least a third of Fremont's points. Another player making a difference was Janaea Carpenter, who had 14 points.

Meanwhile, King/Drew humbled GALA with a 67-27 victory. The Golden Eagles have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven games by 22 points or more this season.

King/Drew's win bumped their record up to 9-12. As for Fremont, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 9-6.

Fremont was taken down by King/Drew 61-8 in their previous matchup on January 15th. Can Fremont avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
