Basketball Recap: Valencia Comes Up Short

Valencia extended their losing streak to three on Saturday, dropping them down to 1-3. They were beaten by the Cypress Centurions 58-14. The Tigers lost against the Centurions in their previous head to head back in January of 2024, too, but the margin this time around was even wider than the 50-39 score last time.

As for Cypress, the win got them back to even at 2-2. With that victory, they brought their scoring average up to 50.8 points per game.

Cypress found their leader in sophomore Kailey Tilson, who posted eight points along with six boards and four steals. Those four steals set a new season-high mark for Tilson. Another player making a difference was Kiana Mitchell, who went 5-for-12 to rack up 12 points.

Valencia has already played their next game, a 40-27 win against California on the 24th. As for Cypress, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 69-55 defeat against St. Margaret's on the 24th.
