Soccer Game Preview: Macomb vs. Geneseo

Macomb is on a three-game streak of home losses, and Geneseo a five-game streak of away losses. However, someone's due for a change in luck on Thursday. The Macomb Bombers will host the Geneseo Maple Leafs at 4:30 p.m. Macomb has given up an average of 5.6 goals per game this season, but Thursday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Macomb fell victim to Alleman and their airtight defense on Saturday. They lost 9-0 to the Pioneers. While losing is never fun, Macomb can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois soccer rankings (they are ranked 432nd, while Alleman are ranked 156th).

Meanwhile, Geneseo scored the most goals they've had this season on Tuesday, but it wasn't enough. They took a 5-3 hit to the loss column at the hands of Sterling.

Cole Clifton and Collin Kreiss scored all three of Geneseo's goals, bringing their combined season tally to nine goals.

Geneseo's defeat dropped their record down to 1-15. As for Macomb, their loss dropped their record down to 2-12.
