Oakwood had already won seven in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 30.4 points) and they went ahead and made it eight on Thursday. They blew past the Pilibos Eagles, posting a 59-31 victory. Given the Owls' advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 211th, while the Eagles are ranked 650th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Pilibos' defeat came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Nola Yousefi, who posted six points. What's more, Yousefi also posted a 50% three-point shooting accuracy, which is the highest she's posted since back in December of 2024. Nanar Shahinian was another key player, putting up six points.

Oakwood's win was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 16-8. The wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 20.8 points over those games. As for Pilibos, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 12-12.

Oakwood has already played their next match, a 64-23 victory against Milken on the 3rd. As for Pilibos, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 41-37 loss against Holy Martyrs Armenian on the 4th.
