Soccer Game Preview: Palos Verdes vs. Mira Costa

Palos Verdes and Mira Costa are an even 4-4-2 against one another since January of 2020, but likely not for long. The Palos Verdes Sea Kings will welcome the Mira Costa Mustangs at 3:15 p.m. on Friday. The two teams are strolling into their games after big wins in their previous games.

Palos Verdes' defense heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Friday. They were the clear victor by a 4-0 margin over Torrance. The Sea Kings might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six matches by three goals or more this season.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Mira Costa, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Friday. They put the hurt on West with a sharp 3-0 win on Tuesday. Given the Mustangs' advantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 181st, while the Warriors are ranked 429th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Mira Costa now has a winning record of 5-4-4. As for Palos Verdes, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine games, which provided a nice bump to their 12-2 record this season.

Palos Verdes came out on top in a nail-biter against Mira Costa in their previous meeting two weeks ago, sneaking past 2-1. Will Palos Verdes repeat their success, or does Mira Costa have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
