Basketball Recap: Carlisle Takes a Loss

Carlisle lost against Altoona back in December of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. The Carlisle Thundering Herd were outmatched by the Altoona Mountain Lions and fell 66-22. While losing is never fun, the Thundering Herd can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 320th, while the Mountain Lions are ranked 21st).

Carlisle is on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-8. As for Altoona, they pushed their record up to 15-2 with the victory, which was their 17th straight on the road dating back to last season.

Carlisle will take on State College at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Altoona, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Chambersburg at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Altoona knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past 12 contests -- so hopefully Chambersburg likes a good challenge.
