Basketball Recap: Penn Hills Takes a Loss

Penn Hills lost against Shaler Area on January 3rd and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Penn Hills Indians were outmatched by the Shaler Area Titans and fell 57-30. While losing is never fun, the Indians can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 490th, while the Titans are ranked 43rd).

Penn Hills' loss was their sixth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 3-14. As for Shaler Area, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 11 of their last 12 games, which provided a nice bump to their 16-2 record this season.

Penn Hills has already played their next match (against Plum), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Shaler Area will be playing at home against Gateway at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Gateway has a tough task ahead: they'll enter the contest with 14 straight defeats, while Shaler Area will come in with five straight victories.
