South Tahoe piles up the points against Hug

Recap: South Tahoe Vikings vs. Hug Hawks

The South Tahoe Vikings can now show off seven landslide victories after their most recent matchup on Friday. They blew past Hug 54-13 at home. The matchup was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 33-9.

South Tahoe was led to victory by Campbell Mathews and Ava Wolfe. Mathews scored 18 points along with eight rebounds, while Wolfe scored 13 points along with five steals. Mathews hasn't dropped below eight rebounds for nine straight games. Another player making a difference was Milan Riva, who scored six points.

South Tahoe is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matches, which provided a nice bump to their 13-8 record this season. As for Hug, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-14.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. South Tahoe will challenge North Valleys at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. North Valleys knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past six matchups -- so hopefully South Tahoe likes a good challenge. As for Hug, they will head out on the road to square off against Wooster at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Nevada (Wooster is ranked 70th, while Hug is ranked 90th).
