Football Recap: West Franklin Comes Up Short

West Franklin lost against Central Heights back in October of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Falcons lost 40-18 to the Vikings. The Falcons were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 22-0.

Central Heights was led to victory by Gage Peine and Chase Bones. Peine rushed for 141 yards and one touchdown on only ten carries, while Bones threw for 119 yards and a pair of TDs. The dominant performance also gave Bones a new career-high in rushing yards (45).

West Franklin's defeat dropped their record down to 0-5. As for Central Heights, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-4.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. West Franklin will host Eureka at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Tornadoes' defense has only allowed 9.2 points per game this season, so the Falcons' offense will have their work cut out for them. As for Central Heights, they will welcome Council Grove at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
