Soccer Game Preview: Gustine vs. Waterford

The Gustine Reds are taking a road trip to take on the Waterford Wildcats at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Gustine has seven straight wins, Waterford has 12 straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the pitch.

Gustine's defense heads into the match hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Wednesday. They walked away with a 2-0 victory over Stone Ridge Christian. The Reds' defense has been rock solid lately; the team hasn't given up a goal in their last three contests.

Meanwhile, Thursday just wasn't the day for Waterford's offense. They lost 4-0 to Delhi on Thursday.

Gustine's win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 7-3-1. The wins came thanks to their defensive effort, having only given up zero goals over those four games. As for Waterford, their loss dropped their record down to 2-13.

Gustine took their victory against Waterford in their previous meeting back in February of 2024 by a conclusive 8-0. Will Gustine repeat their success, or does Waterford have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
