Baseball Game Preview: St. Andrew's Lions vs. John Paul II Golden Warrriors

The St. Andrew's Lions are packing up and heading out on the road for their first away game this season: they will square off against the John Paul II Golden Warrriors at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.

St. Andrew's is leaving town to face John Paul II after disappointing their home crowd in their season opener. St. Andrew's lost 16-0 to Hilton Head Prep on Tuesday. Sadly, the defeat continues a streak the team started last season, making it seven in a row.

Meanwhile, John Paul II was able to grind out a solid win over Patrick Henry Academy on Thursday, taking the game 4-1.

John Paul II let Garrett Heathcott and Jackson Reilley run wild. Heathcott scored a run while going 1-for-3, while Reilley scored a run and stole Three bases. while going 1-for-3. The dominant performance gave Reilley a new career-high in stolen bases. Another player making a difference was Stewart Misko, who went 2-for-4 with two RBI.

St. Andrew's couldn't quite finish off John Paul II in their previous matchup back in March of 2024 and fell 4-2. Can St. Andrew's avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
