Softball Recap: Gretna Dragons vs. Broomfield Eagles
Gretna is ranked highly in their home state and on Saturday they took on another highly ranked team in the form of Broomfield. The Dragons never let the Eagles get on the board and left with a 3-0 victory.
Gretna got a great performance from Ava Nance as she didn't allow a single earned run over 4.1 innings pitched.
On the hitting side, Megan Marshall was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run, two RBI, and one double. That double was her first of the season. The team also got some help courtesy of Elle Burrell, who went 1-for-2 with one triple and one RBI.
Gretna hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least five batters in eight consecutive contests.
Gretna's win bumped their record up to 7-2. As for Broomfield, their loss was their first of the season and makes their record 7-1.
