Softball Recap: Bennett Starts Season with Loss at Home

Bennett unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They came up short against the Weld Central Rebels on Friday, falling 18-7. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Tigers of the 19-9 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in August of 2024.

Bennett saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Colby Robichaud, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, one double, and one RBI. Tori Dishong was another, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one run and one RBI.

Coming up, Bennett will venture away from home to square off against Alameda at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The game will give the Tigers their first taste of in-conference action this season. As for Weld Central, they will be defending their home field for the first time this season when they go up against Limon at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
