Baseball Recap: Conotton Valley Takes a Loss

Conotton Valley was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They took an 8-4 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Tuscarawas Valley Trojans. If the Rockets were looking for revenge after losing 18-10 to the Trojans when the teams met back in March of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Gavin Haney made the most of his time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one double. Conotton Valley is 4-2 when Haney posts two or more runs, but 3-10 otherwise. Konnor Witts was another key player, getting on base in two of his three plate appearances with one stolen base and one run.

Conotton Valley's defeat dropped their record down to 7-12. As for Tuscarawas Valley, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 7-17-1.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. Conotton Valley will be taking part in a tournament against Shadyside at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Tigers will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each matchup than the last. As for Tuscarawas Valley, they will take on West Muskingum in a tournament on Wednesday.
