Basketball Recap: The Gregory School Snaps 18-Game Streak of Wins at Home

The Gregory School suffered their closest defeat since December 4, 2024 on Saturday. They fell just short of the Desert Christian Eagles by a score of 55-52. That makes it the first time this season the Hawks have let down their home crowd.

Ben Head and Devin Dawson certainly did their best on Saturday to avoid the loss. Head posted 13 points, while Dawson scored 14 points and six boards. Chase Butler was another key player, putting up five points and five rebounds.

Even though they lost, The Gregory School smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 13 offensive rebounds. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their offensive rebound total in three consecutive matchups.

Tyson Dobbins continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Desert Christian, dropping a double-double on 28 points and 14 boards. The dominant performance gave Dobbins a new career-high in rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Fernando Ayala, who earned nine points.
