Football Recap: Claxton Comes Up Short

Claxton was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their tenth straight loss dating back to last season. They fell 19-6 to the Savannah Bluejackets. The Tigers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Bluejackets apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in October of 2024.

Claxton's loss dropped their record down to 0-8. As for Savannah, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-5.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Claxton will face off against Portal at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The Tigers will be up against the Panthers' rather soft defense (which has allowed 35 points per matchup), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Savannah, they will take on Screven County at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The Gamecocks' defense has only allowed 6.7 points per game this season, so the Bluejackets' offense will have their work cut out for them.
