Softball Recap: Lincoln North Star Sets Scoring Season-High Against Lincoln Southeast

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Lincoln North Star). They were the clear victors by a 19-11 margin over the Lincoln Southeast Knights on Wednesday. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Navigators considering their two-run performance the game before.

The team relied heavily on Nevaeh Miller-Willis, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, six RBI, and two runs. Those four hits gave her a new career-high. Haylee Van Pelt was another key player, going 2-for-5 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Lincoln North Star kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 18 hits. They are 10-1 when they post 11 or more hits.

Lincoln North Star pushed their record up to 12-19 with the win, which was their fifth straight at home. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.4 runs over those games. As for Lincoln Southeast, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-26.

Lincoln North Star wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next matchup, a 5-3 loss against Elkhorn South on the 9th. Lincoln Southeast does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
