Softball Recap: D'Evelyn Jaguars vs. Chatfield Chargers
D'Evelyn made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Chatfield, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Jaguars fell just short of the Chargers by a score of 4-2 on Friday. The Jaguars were red-hot at the plate heading into the game (they scored no less than ten runs in the three contests prior), but the Chargers' pitcher proved too tough.
Nava Basquez spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four earned runs on seven hits and racked up eight Ks. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than two walks in nine consecutive appearances.
