Soccer Game Preview: Corona vs. Centennial

The Corona Panthers will face off against the Centennial Huskies at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Corona's offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for four straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end.

It was a proper cat-fight when Corona took on Norco on Saturday. Corona and Norco finished up their game with a 1-1 draw. The result (or lack thereof) was the first time the Panthers have been dealt a draw since back in December of 2024.

Meanwhile, while it was all tied up 0-0 at halftime, Centennial was not quite Roosevelt's equal in the second half on Thursday. They fell just short of the Mustangs by a score of 1-0. While losing is never fun, the Huskies can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 204th, while the Mustangs are ranked 28th).

Corona's draw makes their record 7-5-2 this season. As for Centennial, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 9-5-2.
