Marion Center strolled into their game on Friday with a perfect record and they left with the same. They strolled past the Purchase Line Red Dragons with points to spare, taking the game 28-12. The final result isn't all that surprising considering the Stingers' considerable advantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania football rankings (they are ranked 79th, while the Red Dragons are ranked 337th).

Marion Center's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Camden Rising, who threw for 212 yards and two TDs, and also rushed for 43 yards and one touchdown. Rising also deserves a shoutout for his performance on D, picking up a sack and making four total tackles (2.0 for loss). Troy Slovinsky was another key player, picking up 109 receiving yards and a pair of scores.

Purchase Line's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Maddox Frantz, who rushed for 117 yards and one TD on only five carries, and Victor Bartlebaugh, who rushed for 100 yards and one touchdown.

Marion Center's victory bumped their record up to 8-0. As for Purchase Line, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-6.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Marion Center will face off against rival River Valley at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have allowed few points on average (the Stingers 14.4, the Panthers 13.2) so any points scored will be well earned. Meanwhile, Purchase Line is set to take on their familiar foe Portage at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
