Softball Recap: Portal Takes a Loss

Portal extended their losing streak to four on Wednesday, dropping them down to 9-10. They fell 7-3 to the David Emanuel Academy Eagles. The Panthers were not able to make up for their loss to the Eagles from their previous meeting back in August of 2023.

As for David Emanuel Academy, they are on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 11 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-2 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.6 runs over those games.

For David Emanuel Academy's part, they saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kate Yeomans, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI. Bailey McNure was another, going 1-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Portal does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for David Emanuel Academy, they will take on Citizens Christian Academy at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Eagles' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Patriots have averaged an impressive 9.5 runs per game this season.
