Football Recap: Denison's Undefeated Season over After Three Games

After flying high against Independence last Friday, Denison came back down to earth. The Yellow Jackets took a 31-21 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Emerson Mavericks on Friday. The Yellow Jackets gained 72 more yards on the day, but it was the Mavericks that made the best use of them.

Despite the loss, Denison still got an impressive performance from Brandon Douglas, who picked up 167 receiving yards and one TD.

The critical scores for Emerson came from Tj Smith, Brady Mensik, Presha Allen, and Roman Edwards.

Having lost for the first time this season, Denison fell to 2-1. As for Emerson, the victory got them back to even at 2-2.

Denison has already played their next contest, a 56-7 defeat against Walnut Grove on the 26th. As for Emerson, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 28-17 win against Memorial on the 26th.
