The crowd at Friday's league contest between the Emerson Mavericks (McKinney, TX) and the visiting Denison Yellow Jackets (Denison, TX), witnessed Emerson's football squad topple Denison by a count of 31-21.

The Mavericks (2-2) will now prepare for their contest against Memorial (Frisco, TX). The Warriors enter the 5A-2 Region I District 4 battle with a 2-2 record. In their last battle, Memorial overcame Independence (Frisco, TX), 35-6, in a league battle.

The Yellow Jackets now own a 2-1 record. They play next when they host Walnut Grove for a 5A-2 Region I District 4 battle on Friday, September 26. Denison will play a Wildcats team coming off a 49-0 league win over Emerson (McKinney, TX). The Wildcats record now stands at 3-0.
