Baseball Game Preview: Covenant Academy Rams vs. Twiggs Academy Trojans

For the second straight game, Covenant Academy will face off against Twiggs Academy. The Rams will square off against the Trojans at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Covenant Academy is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.7 runs per game this season.

On Thursday, Covenant Academy made easy work of Twiggs Academy and carried off an 18-3 win. The victory continues a trend for the Rams in their matchups with the Trojans: they've now won six in a row.

Blake Bartow made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits over four innings pitched. Bartow was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with five RBI and one double. He is becoming a predictor of Covenant Academy's success: when he posts at least three RBI the team is undefeated (and 3-10 when he doesn't).

In other batting news, Landon Sneed was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run, five RBI, and two runs. Covenant Academy is undefeated when Sneed posts three or more RBI, but 3-10 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Hayden Korink, who scored two runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-4.

Twiggs Academy is on a 20-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-9. As for Covenant Academy, their win bumped their record up to 6-10.
