Softball Game Preview: Natomas Nighthawks vs. Dixon Rams

Natomas is 0-9 against Dixon since April of 2016 but things could change on Tuesday. The Nighthawks will host the Rams at 4:30 p.m. Natomas has given up an average of 19.4 runs per game this season, but Tuesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Thursday just wasn't the day for Natomas' offense. They lost 19-0 to Destiny Christian Academy on Thursday.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Dixon). They walked away with a 20-17 win over Sutter on Thursday. The Rams haven't had any issues with the Huskies recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive victory against them.

Dixon's win was truly a team effort as seven different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Dakota Gaball, who fired off two home runs, four runs, and three RBI while going 4-for-4. Those four runs gave Gaball a new career-high. Emily Morris was another, going 2-for-5 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Dixon kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 19 hits. They are 5-1 when they post 11 or more hits.

Dixon's victory bumped their record up to 9-7. As for Natomas, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-11-1.
