The Schuylkill Haven Hurricanes will take on the Tamaqua Blue Raiders at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Tamaqua took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Schuylkill Haven, who comes in off a win.
Schuylkill Haven is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They simply couldn't be stopped on Friday as they easily beat Pine Grove 55-25. The Hurricanes have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won four matchups by 27 points or more this season.

Schuylkill Haven can attribute much of their success to Audrey Hutchinson, who posted 18 points. The dominant performance gave Hutchinson a new career-high in points. Another player making a difference was Alea Porter, who had 12 points.
Meanwhile, Tamaqua unfortunately witnessed the end of their ten-game winning streak on Friday. They took a 61-45 bruising from North Schuylkill. The defensive woes were uncharacteristic for the Blue Raiders, who until this game were averaging 29 points allowed.
Schuylkill Haven will need focus on slowing down Millie Black, one of several Tamaqua players who made an impact when they last played. She dropped a double-double on ten points and 20 rebounds. With that strong performance, Black is now averaging an impressive 8.7 boards per game. Lauren Ligenza was another key player, dropping a double-double on ten points and ten boards.
Even though they lost, Tamaqua smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 21 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in 14 consecutive contests.
Schuylkill Haven pushed their record up to 9-3 with the victory, which was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season. The wins came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 29.7 points per game. As for Tamaqua, their loss ended a five-game streak of away wins and brought them to 12-2.
Schuylkill Haven was able to grind out a solid win over Tamaqua when the teams last played back in December of 2024, winning 40-30. Does Schuylkill Haven have another victory up their sleeve, or will Tamaqua turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
