Softball Recap: East Laurens Drops Highest Score of Season Against Southwest

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask East Laurens). Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Southwest Patriots a 20-0 shutout on Thursday. Winning may never get old, but the Falcons sure are getting used to it with their third in a row.

East Laurens' win bumped their record up to 6-2. As for Southwest, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-6.

Looking ahead, East Laurens will head out to square off against Washington County at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Golden Hawks have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 7.08 runs per game on average), something the Falcons will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Southwest, they will be playing at home against Academy for Classical Education at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Gryphons' pitching crew has only allowed 3.9 runs per game this season, so the Patriots' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
