Basketball Recap: Central Picks Up Fourth Consecutive Victory

Central came tearing into Monday's game with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 19 points) and they left with even more momentum. They came out on top against Masterman by a score of 46-38. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Lancers also won the last time the pair played back in February of 2024.

Central was led to victory by Sofia Meer and Stevie Hall. Meer dropped a double-double on 18 points and 16 boards, while Hall went 6 for 14 on her way to 17 points. Meer has been hot for a while, having posted eight or more rebounds the last 12 times she's played. Senya Gaines-Ditto was another key player, putting up six points.

Several Masterman players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Sophia Brunelli, who posted 15 points. Another player making a difference was Jocelyn Goldstein, who had 11 points.

Central is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matchups, which provided a massive bump to their 6-7 record this season. As for Masterman, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-8.

Central didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 47-43 loss against Academy at Palumbo on the 15th. Masterman has also already played their next game, a 62-27 defeat against Audenried on the 15th.
