Baseball Recap: Monroe Area Takes a Loss

Monroe Area and Whitewater squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but Monroe Area had to settle for second. They came up short against the Wildcats, falling 9-2. The Purple Hurricanes were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Wildcats earlier this season, when they won 4-3.

Monroe Area has also been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last seven games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 15-13 record this season. As for Whitewater, with the victory, they broke their four-game losing streak and moved their record to 21-10.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Monroe Area beat the Wildcats by a score of 4-3 later that day.
