Basketball Game Preview: Del Lago Academy Firebirds vs. San Pasqual Golden Eagles

Two dominant guards in Emma Stephens and Jackie Perez are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. Having just played yesterday, the Del Lago Academy Firebirds will get right back to it and host the San Pasqual Golden Eagles at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Del Lago Academy is coming into the game hot, having won their last three games.

Del Lago Academy will bounce into Friday's match after beating Escondido Adventist Academy, who they had gone 1-8 against in their nine prior meetings. Del Lago Academy came out on top against Escondido Adventist Academy by a score of 39-31 on Thursday.

It was another big night for Stephens, who posted 17 points. Another player making a difference was Sophie Berzanski, who scored 11 points.

Meanwhile, San Pasqual played a tough contest back in December of 2024 in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were dealt a 59-30 loss at the hands of Fallbrook. The Golden Eagles haven't had much luck with the Warriors recently, as the team's come up short the last seven times they've met.

Perez was San Pasqual's leading scorer, having posted 12 points.

San Pasqual's defeat dropped their record down to 3-3. As for Del Lago Academy, their win bumped their record up to 8-5.
