Soccer Recap: Berkmar Takes a Loss

While the 1-1 score might suggest a draw, it was the Buford Wolves who were credited with the win on Tuesday. The Buford Wolves got it done in the shootout by posting five goals to the Berkmar Patriots's four. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Patriots came into the contest with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Georgia soccer rankings (they are ranked 87th, while Wolves are ranked 285th).

Berkmar's goal came courtesy of Eric Mendez, which was the first he's scored this season.

Berkmar dropped their record down to 5-5 with the loss, which was their fourth straight on the road. As for Buford, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 3-6.

Coming up, Berkmar will be playing in front of their home fans against Duluth at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Buford, they will venture away from home to challenge Mill Creek at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
