Capac is 0-5 against Sandusky since April of 2022 but things could change on Tuesday. The Chiefs will host the Wolves at 4:00 p.m. The last three games Capac has played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.
The home team had won the previous five meetings between Capac and Brown City, and Brown City kept the tradition alive. The Chiefs fell just short of the Green Devils by a score of 13-11 on Wednesday.
A Howard was huge no matter where he played even without the win. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching three innings while giving up just one earned run but no hits. That's the fewest earned runs he has allowed since back in April. He was also stellar in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI.
In other batting news, B Tesnow was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-4 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. That home run marked the first that he has launched this season. Another player making a difference was J McGeorge, who got on base in four of his five plate appearances with one run and one RBI.
Meanwhile, Sandusky got themselves on the board against Memphis on Thursday, but Memphis never followed suit. They were the clear victors by a 20-0 margin over the Yellowjackets. Considering the Wolves have won 15 games by more than five runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.
Like Capac, Sandusky also got a great game from a two-way player: Jack Betts. He didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out ten over four innings pitched. Betts has been consistent for a while: he hasn't given up more than two walks in 12 consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, getting on base in two of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI.
In other batting news, Sandusky got a massive performance out of Gavin Phillips, who got on base in four of his five plate appearances with four runs, two stolen bases, and one RBI. Those four runs gave Phillips a new career-high. Bryce Kiley was another key player, getting on base in four of his five plate appearances with two stolen bases, two runs, and one double.
Sandusky kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 15 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in nine consecutive matchups.
Sandusky has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 15 of their last 16 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 23-6 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.6 runs over those games. As for Capac, their loss dropped their record down to 16-7.
Capac might still be hurting after the 16-0 defeat they got from Sandusky when the teams last played back in April of 2025. Will the Chiefs have more luck at home instead of on the road? Come back here after the game to get an analysis of the match and other baseball content.
