Football Recap: Mclouth Falls to Atchison County in First Game of Season + How To Watch

McLouth kicked off their season on the road on Friday and hit a couple of potholes. They lost 40-20 to the Atchison County Tigers. The Bulldogs were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Tigers apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in September of 2024.

Atchison County's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Cody Falk led the charge by throwing for 213 yards and two touchdowns while completing 80% of his passes, and also rushing for 46 yards. Those 213 passing yards gave Falk a new career-high. Max Bottorff was another key player, gaining 119 total yards and three touchdowns.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. McLouth will challenge Troy on Friday. This will be the Bulldogs' first chance to prove their worth in the conference. As for Atchison County, they will take on Riverside [Wathena/Elwood] at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
