Football Recap: Heber Hansen Leads Globe's Defense on Friday

Globe's game last Friday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Friday. They walked away with a 28-21 victory over the Arete Prep CHARGERS. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Tigers as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.

Globe didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off five passes before the game was over. Heber Hansen led the group effort, picking up three of those interceptions all by himself. Daniel Ramos also made seven total tackles, which is notable because Globe is 2-1 when he posts at least four total tackles, but 2-3 otherwise. Ramos got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.

Arete Prep's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Lucas Allgood, who picked up 144 receiving yards and a pair of scores. Rayan Ahmed also helped out as he racked up 102 receiving yards.

The victory got Globe back to even at 4-4. As for Arete Prep, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-5.

Coming up, Globe will be playing at home against Catalina at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Arete Prep, they will head out on the road to face off against Chandler Prep at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Titans will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more points each game than the last.
