High school softball: Florida junior Jasmine Francik tops national leaderboard with 411 strikeouts

Three players have eclipsed 400 strikeouts this season according to statistics submitted to MaxPreps.

Jasmine Francik of Melbourne (Fla.) leads high school softball nationally with 411 strikeouts this season according to statistics submitted to MaxPreps.

Francik is committed to Florida State and had a 0.19 ERA. She hit strikeout numbers as high as 36 this season in a 14-inning game and reached 1,000 for her career in mid-April.

Kaitlyn Terry of Greenway (Phoenix, Ariz.) is second in the nation with 406 strikeouts. Headed to UCLA, the senior had a 0.21 ERA has gone over 400 strikeouts in consecutive seasons. She fanned at least 15 batters in 16 games this season.

Alyssa Faircloth of Tuscaloosa County (Northport, Ala.) finished third on the leaderboard with 402 strikeouts. The senior is headed to Troy and helped the Wildcats make a deep playoff run while winning 30 games. Armed with a 0.92 ERA, Faircloth averaged 2.2 strikeouts per innings.
