Southeast Polk kept a clean sheet against Waukee on Tuesday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 1-0 victory over the Warriors. Given Southeast Polk's advantage in MaxPreps' Iowa soccer rankings (they are ranked 31st, while Waukee are ranked 96th) , the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Southeast Polk's win was their first in the conference, bumping their conference record up to 1-1-2 and their overall record up to 3-3-4. As for Waukee, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-8-1 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Southeast Polk will challenge Newton at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Newton's last four games have been decided by no more than a goal, so don't be surprised if it's a close one. As for Waukee, they will square off against Indianola at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday.
