Baseball Recap: Norwood Triumphs

Norwood won the last time they faced Summersville and things went their way on Wednesday too. The Pirates walked away with a 5-2 win over the Wildcats. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Pirates.

L Coatney made a big impact no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching 1.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Norwood is undefeated when Coatney allows one or fewer hits, but 7-10 otherwise. Coatney was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-2 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.

Coatney wasn't the only one making solid contact as three players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was W Bolfing, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

Norwood's victory bumped their record up to 13-10. As for Summersville, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-9.

As of now, neither Norwood nor the Wildcats have any future games scheduled.
