Basketball Recap: Carmel Find Success

Carmel's game last Thursday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Saturday. They walked away with a 59-49 victory over the Heritage Christian Eagles. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Greyhounds also won the last time the pair played back in December of 2023.

Heritage Christian's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Joslyn Marshall, who posted 16 points. Another player making a difference was Riley Johnson, who put up 12 points and six rebounds.

The win got Carmel back to even at 8-8. As for Heritage Christian, they dropped their record down to 6-11 with the loss, which was their fifth straight at home.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Carmel will challenge Columbus North at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Heritage Christian, they will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Anderson at 7:00 p.m. on January 21st.
