Basketball Recap: West Philadelphia Takes Loss Despite Strong Performances from Devin Sadat and Kashay Ryder

West Philadelphia has been a dominant force so far, but they're in the middle of a mini-slump at the moment. They were two points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 32-30 heartbreaker at the hands of Little Flower Catholic for Girls. That's two games in a row now that the Speedboys have lost by exactly two points.

Despite the loss, West Philadelphia had strong showings from Kashay Ryder, who posted eight points and 16 rebounds, and Devin Sadat, who earned eight points. Those 16 rebounds gave Ryder a new career-high.

Little Flower Catholic for Girls was led to victory by Saani Evans and Alexa Harr. Evans put up 11 points, while Harr had ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Kelly Trahey, who posted five points.

West Philadelphia's defeat dropped their record down to 7-4. As for Little Flower Catholic for Girls, they now have a winning record of 4-3.

West Philadelphia wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 57-23 win against Abington Friends on the 4th. As for Little Flower Catholic for Girls, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 51-26 loss against Nazareth Academy on the 2nd.
