Baseball Recap: Shiloh Comes Up Short

Shiloh had lost five straight at home, but on Thursday they dropped down to 5-16 to make it six. They lost 18-2 to the Decatur Bulldogs. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Bulldogs this season, with their most recent defeat being a 5-4 loss on Wednesday.

Markelious Foster was cooking despite his team's loss, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs and one stolen base. He has become a key player for Shiloh: the team is 2-1 when he posts at least two runs, but 3-15 otherwise.

As for Decatur, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 7-14. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.5 runs on average over those games.

On Decatur's side, Aidan Mohl was excellent, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with two runs and one stolen base.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. Shiloh will take on Central Gwinnett at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday. As for Decatur, they will square off against Arabia Mountain at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. The Rams have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 10.05 runs per game on average), something the Bulldogs will no doubt try to take advantage of.
