Basketball Recap: Ferndale Comes Up Short

After soaring to 64 points the game before, Ferndale was a bit more limited in their game on Monday. They were outmatched by the Cambria Heights Highlanders and fell 67-18. The match marked the Yellow Jackets' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

It was another big night for Sienna Kirsch, who almost dropped a triple-double on 37 points, 13 rebounds, and nine steals for Cambria Heights. That makes it four consecutive games in which Kirsch has scored at least a third of Cambria Heights' points. Another player making a difference was Gracey Vinglish, who dropped a double-double on ten points and 14 boards.

Ferndale's loss dropped their record down to 10-7. As for Cambria Heights, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven games, which provided a nice bump to their 13-5 record this season.

Ferndale will face off against Johnstown Christian at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Johnstown Christian's defense has only allowed 22.9 points per game this season, so Ferndale's offense will have their work cut out for them. Cambria Heights has already played their next match, a 52-21 victory against Northern Cambria on the 29th.
