Basketball Game Preview: Bassett Olympians vs. Pomona Red Devils

The Bassett Olympians will head out to take on the Pomona Red Devils at 4:45 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with four consecutive losses for Bassett and 11 for Pomona dating back to last season.

Bassett came up into this matchup off a tough 39-point loss on Tuesday. This time they kept things ultra-competitive, but unfortunately the final result was the same. They fell just short of La Puente by a score of 22-19 on Thursday.

Meanwhile, it's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 70-11, which was the final score in Pomona's tilt against Workman on Thursday.

Pomona's defeat dropped their record down to 0-9. As for Bassett, their loss dropped their record down to 2-7.

Everything came up roses for Bassett against Pomona in their previous matchup back in December of 2024, as the team secured a 50-20 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Bassett since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
