Football Recap: A.C. Reynolds Comes Up Short

If A.C. Reynolds was feeling good fresh off their 34-14 takedown of Murphy last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Rockets were dealt a 70-20 loss at the hands of the Freedom Patriots on Friday.

Kolton Rymer threw for 172 yards and a pair of touchdowns. Kayden Ray was his top target, picking up 87 receiving yards and one score.

Freedom had a senior duo take command as Kaden Davis threw for 318 yards and six TDs while completing 92.9% of his passes and Kobe Johnson picked up 252 receiving yards and six scores. Thanks to that big game, Davis is now up to 17 passing touchdowns on the season. Cam Brown also helped with two touchdowns in total.

A.C. Reynolds now has a losing record of 2-3. As for Freedom, the win keeps them at an undefeated 5-0.

A.C. Reynolds and Freedom will both get a bit of extra prep time before their next games. The next time the Rockets see the field they'll take on Erwin at 7:00 p.m. on October 3. As for Freedom, their break will end when they face Watauga at 7:30 p.m. on October 3.
