Softball Recap: Hannibal Comes Up Short

If Hannibal was riding high fresh off their 13-3 takedown of Canton on Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Pirates lost 14-0 to the Moberly Spartans on Monday. The contest marked the first time this season in which the Pirates were not able to get on the board.

Hannibal's loss dropped their record down to 2-11. As for Moberly, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 4-3.

Coming up, Hannibal is taking a road trip to square off against Louisiana at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Moberly, they will be playing at home against Northeast at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Bearcats' pitching crew has only allowed 2.2 runs per game this season, so the Spartans' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
