Baseball Game Preview: Roswell Hornets vs. Seckinger Jaguars

For the second straight game, Roswell will face off against Seckinger. The Hornets will be playing in front of their home fans against the Jaguars at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Roswell 3.5, Seckinger 3.8) so any runs scored will be well earned.

Roswell fought the good fight in their extra-innings game against Seckinger on Wednesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Jaguars by a score of 6-5. The Hornets' loss signaled the end of their four-game winning streak.

For Seckinger's part, Shia Carnish tossed a big game, striking out 11 batters over five innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off seven hits (and only one walk). Those 11 strikeouts gave Carnish a new career-high.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Nicholas Fernandez, who scored two runs while going 2-for-3. That's the most runs he has posted since back in February. The team also got some help courtesy of EJ Hannah, who scored two runs while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances.

Roswell's defeat dropped their record down to 16-8. As for Seckinger, with the victory, they broke their four-game losing streak and moved their record to 14-9.
